International Maritime Academy (IMA) was founded in 1999 at Chennai. This academy is a section 25 registered private ltd company to run the maritime courses and it was established in order to provide the technical education in the field of Merchant Navy.

IMA is approved by the Directorate General of shipping (DGS) Ministry of shipping, Government of India, is awarded ISO 9001:2008 Quality Certification by Indian Register Quality Systems.

Candidates must have pass HSC / (10+2) From a Recognized Broad With 55% Average Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (or) B.Sc in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Electronics with Physics with 55% marks in the Final Year (or) BE (or) B.Tech Degree from a college Recognized by AICTE.

Admission Criteria:
Candidates must have passed 10th Std with Total Average 40% marks. (With Individual Pass in Mathematics, Science Subjects) (or) PASS in 2 year I.T.I Course from Govt. approved institute with minimum 50% aggregate marks in final year.
