Re: Instrumentation Engineers Eligible For IES Exam

IES stand for Indian Engineering Service Exam, which conducted by Union Public Service Commission .

As per my knowledge Candidate who holding a B. tech (Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering) may definitely apply for the Indian Engineering Service Exam, but will have to opt for, any of the four disciplines of engineering which do not includes Instrumentation Engineering.

The examination is conducted only in the following disciplines of Engineering:
Mechanical Engineering
Civil Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics and Communication Engineering

Age limit
Candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be over 30 years. However, the maximum age limit is relaxed upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for Sc/Stc category candidate.
