The Institution of Engineers (India) (IEI) is the national institute for engineers in India. It has over 0.5 million members from 15 engineering disciplines in 99 centers or chapters in whole world; it is the largest multi-disciplinary engineering professional society in the English-speaking world. It is currently headquartered in Kolkata.

The Eligibility required for getting the Corporate Membership in Institute of Engineers India Limited are as follows:

Age:
Must be of minimum 40 years on the date of application.

Educational Qualification:
Qualification recognized by the Institution and included in the rules and syllabi will be accepted for various classes of membership. Other qualification may be accepted in consultation with the Equivalence Committee.

Abridged Eligibility Guidelines for ASSOCIATE MEMBER (AMIE):

Age:
Minimum 21 years on the date of application.

Educational Qualification:
Qualification recognized by the Institution and included in the rules and syllabi will be accepted for various classes of membership. Other qualification may be accepted in consultation with the Equivalence Committee.

Abridged Eligibility Guidelines for MEMBER (MIE):

Minimum 30 years on the date of application.
