INSEAD MBA Requirements

Can you tell me about the admissions criteria or requirement for admission in Master of Business Administration - MBA course offered by INSEAD - The Business School for the World?

INSEAD admits two classes per year, each comprising 500 students and representing over 80 nationalities. Around 300 participants start on the Europe campus in France and around 200 start on the Asia campus in Singapore for Master of Business Administration - MBA course.

Leadership potential

It looks for applicants who can demonstrate the potential as leaders.
It considers professional experience and past performance when assessing application.
One must have an average of five years work experience (between two and ten).
More important than the length of your experience, is the quality of your accomplishments.
Those who demonstrate exceptional maturity and outstanding leadership through their professional and personal experiences are encouraged to apply.

Academic Capacity

It is evaluated on the basis of a sound academic foundation and the GMAT or GRE scores.

Academic foundation:
Bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised college or university
To assess academic background, it considers the competitiveness of the institution attended and academic performance in it.

GMAT or GRE:
One is required to take either one of these tests as they provide with a standardized way of evaluating candidates.
Minimum or above the 70-75th percentile for both the quantitative and verbal sections of the GMAT and a percentile of 80-85th or above for the quantitative and verbal sections of the GRE is required.
The standardized tests are just one of several admission criteria.
A high score does not guarantee admission, and a below average score does not eliminate a candidate.

International Motivation

The Admissions Committee looks for candidates with very strong international motivation who typically have perceptive insights into the complexities of business in an international setting.

As most applicants have either worked or studied outside their home country; if one has not had international experiences, they would have demonstrated in other tangible ways that they are comfortable interacting in diverse communities and are committed to pursuing a global career.

Fluent English is a prerequisite.
One also needs to prove that one have at least a practical knowledge of another language.

Ability to Contribute to the INSEAD Experience

The course is for participants who are mature, energetic, highly motivated, well-rounded, and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

The INSEAD MBA is a ten-month full-time program with campuses in Fontainebleau, France, Singapore, and Abu-Dhabi

The program comprises of 5 terms each of 8-week duration.

Admission requirement:

Application Fee of $300

GMAT and TOEFL (Min. IBT:105, CBT:260, PBT:620). Also accepts TOLEIC (all 4 parts. Listening and Reading:950, Writing:170, Speaking:190), IELTS (Academic:7.5), PTE (Academic:72), and the Certificate of Proficiency in English Test (CPE:B)

Two letters of recommendation – one from current supervisor or manager and second from someone with the ability to evaluate the candidate in a professional setting.
