Hey buddy the Indian Statistical Institute is an academic institute of national importance as recognised by a 1959 act of the Indian parliament.

It grew out of the Statistical Laboratory set up by Prasanta Chandra Mahalanobis in Presidency College, Kolkata.

Visiting Scientist recruitment

Institute is inviting applications from Indian nationals for independent research and also committed to teaching, for the position of Visiting Scientist in the subjects/areas mentioned below.

The Centre is temporarily located in Tezpur University campus.

Eligibility

The applicant, preferably below 32 years, must have a Ph. D. degree or have submitted his/her thesis in any of the relevant subjects/areas mentioned below.

Salary

Expected consolidated fellowship isRs.32,500 ( for those who have submitted theses but the degree is awaited) and between Rs. 39,000 - Rs.52,000 based on academic qualifications, publications and experiences.

The tenure of the offer is initially for one year, but extendable subject to performance. Limited accommodation in the campus may be provided subject to availability.

Subjects/Areas:

Statistics and Mathematics, and their applications in Social Sciences, Physics
and Earth Sciences, Biological Sciences and Computer Science.
