Indian Police Service exam held every year under the supervision of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). IPS service consists of massive challenges that require a perfect skill to tackle. Eligibility:- Students should have a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized University . A candidate should attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years. Age Relaxation:- (i) if a candidate belongs to a Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe there is Relaxation upto a maximum of five years (ii) in the case of candidates belonging to Other Backward Classes there is Relaxation upto maximum of three years IPS exam paper pattern: Civil Services (Preliminary) Examinations (Objective Type) and Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) Preliminary Examination:- The Examination shall comprise of two compulsory papers of 200 marks each. Both the question papers are of multiple choice questions Each paper will be of two hours duration. Main Examination:- Paper-A (One of the Indian Language ). 300 Marks Paper-B English 300 Marks Papers to be counted for merit Paper-I Essay 250 Marks Paper-II General Studies-I 250 Marks (History and Geography of the World and Society , Indian Heritage and Culture) Paper-III General Studies -II 250 Marks (Governance, Social Justice , Constitution, Polity, and International relations) Paper-IV General Studies -III 250 Marks (Technology, Economic Development, Bio-diversity, Environment, Security and Disaster Management) Paper-V General Studies -IV 250 Marks (Ethics, Integrity and Aptitude) Paper-VI Optional Subject - Paper 1 250 Marks Paper-VII Optional Subject - Paper 2 250 Marks Sub Total (Written test) - 1750 Marks Grand Total - 2025 Marks Personality Test - 275 Marks Optional subject list : i) Agriculture (ii) Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Science (iii) Geology (iv) Botany (v) Chemistry (vi) Civil Engineering (vii) Commerce and Accountancy (viii) Economics (ix) Electrical Engineering (x) Geography (xi) Anthropology (xii) History (xiii) Law (xiv) Management (xv) Mathematics (xvi) Mechanical Engineering (xvii) Medical Science (xviii) Philosophy (xix) Physics (xx) Political Science and International Relations (xxi) Psychology (xxii) Public Administration (xxiii) Sociology (xxiv) Statistics (xxv) Zoology (xxv) Literature of any one of the following languages: Assamese, Bengali, Bodo, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Nepali, Oriya, Punjabi, Dogri, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Kashmiri, Konkani, Maithili, Sanskrit, Santhali, Sindhi, Tamil, Telugu, Urdu and English. |

The eligibility criteria for an aspirant to join the Indian Police Services are as mentioned below: Indian Police Services If you want to get a Job in Indian Police Services you have to appear for the All India Civil Service Exam conducted by Union Public Service Commission (U.P.S.C). Educational Qualifications Required are: A candidate should have qualified in Graduation from acknowledged University with minimum pass marks in any Discipline Age Limits A candidate should have attained bare minimum 21 years and not maximum 30 years as on 01/August/Exam conducting Year. For OBC applicant’s maximum age is 33 years For SC/ST applicant’s maximum age is 35 years to attend the exam Number of Attempts for examination: General Category candidate up to Four Times OBC candidate up to Seven Times SC/ST candidates there is no limitations Height A male applicant must have a minimum height is 165cm female applicant must have minimum height is 150 cm for General category applicant’s. Other than General category candidates must have minimum height for male candidate is 160cm and female candidate minimum height is 145cm. |
