Can you tell me how can I join Indian Military Academy (IMA) after completing BE as I want to serve Indian Military?

There are a number of ways in which one can get admission in the Army. One can join after school or after Graduation.

Types of Commission
The Army offers both permanent and short service commission. Permanent commission (PC) is granted through the Indian Military Academy (IMA) Dehradun and Short Service Commission (SSC) is granted through Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai.

If one opts for ‘PC’ then one is basically looking at a permanent career in the Army, a career till one retires. SSC is for those who wish to serve for a few years.

Getting through Indian Military Academy (IMA):

Stage 1. Apply in response to the News paper advertisement in Employment News during Mar/Apr & Oct / Nov every year.

Stage 2. Prepare for the Written test and Get through it

Stage 3. Appear for the SSB Interview and Get recommended

Stage 4. Appear for the Medical Examination and be declared fit.

Stage 5. Your name must appear in the Merit List (UPSC)

Stage 6. Receipt of Joining Instructions for IMA

Yes, you can join the Indian Military Academy after doing the B.E. Here, I am going to tell you how you can join the Indian Military Academy.

You can apply through Technical Graduate Course in Indian Military Academy. The Course vacancy details released every year in month of the May/Jun & Nov/Dec.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidate need to pass BE/B.Tech from recognized University

Age Criteria:

Age of the candidate should be between 19 years to 24 years

Marital Status: Un Married
Gender: Male

Duration of Training: 18 months
