Re: Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology Dehradun

The Indian Institute of Remote Sensing is a head foundation for research, advanced education and preparing in the field of Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics and GPS Technology for Natural Resources, Environmental and Disaster Management under the Indian Department of Space, which was built up in the year 1966

In the past known as Indian Photo-understanding Institute (IPI), the Institute was established on 21st April 1966 under the aegis of Survey of India (SOI). It was set up with the joint effort of the Government of The Netherlands on the example of Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC) of the University of Twente, once known as International Institute for Aerospace Survey and Earth Sciences, The Netherlands.

The Institute's working at Kalidas Road; Dehradun was initiated on May 27, 1972. Since its establishing, the Institute has been assuming a key part in limit working in remote detecting and geoinformatics innovation and their applications for the advantage of the client group from India and abroad.

Keeping pace with the mechanical advances, the Institute has upgraded its capacity with time, to satisfy the expanded obligation and request from Indian and universal group. It has programs for all levels of clients, i.e. mid-vocation experts, analysts, the scholarly world, new graduates and approach producers.

Objectives:

Limit working in the field of Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics and their applications in regular asset administration, earth and climatic sciences, oceanography, urban and framework improvement, environment and catastrophe administration, through:

Uncommon and modified preparing programs according to the need of partners.

Instructive projects at post graduate level and embrace connected research .
