The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) is the centrepiece of the European Union’s strategy for aviation safety. Its mission is to promote the highest common standards of safety and environmental protection in civil aviation. Its mandate is twofold - it shall provide technical expertise to the European Commission by assisting in the drafting of rules for aviation safety in various areas and providing technical input to the conclusion of the relevant international agreements. It has been given the power to carry out certain executive tasks related to aviation safety, such as the certification of aeronautical products and organization involved in their design, production and maintenance. EASA PART 66 FULL BASIC TRAINING PROGRAM Indian Institute of Aeronautics (IIA) offers full basic training program according to EASA Part 66 for grant of Aircraft Maintenance License training in Category B1.1. All courses are in line with the international quality and procedural standards for the training of maintenance personnel. Eligibility Minimum Age 15 years Secondary Education Certificate (SSC) School Leaving Certificate (SLC) Medical Fitness Certificate Mandatory Passport Basic knowledge of English language (IELTS, min. band 4.0) Examination At the end of module training, written exams are held for the eligible candidates and are conducted by Indian Institute of Aeronautics (IIA). The minimum passing marks are 75% as per EASA guidelines. Practical Training The practical training elements are corresponding to module 7A & 11A, 15 & 17A. During these training, one visits respective workshops for the in- house task performance and maintenance facilities of MRO’s for actual maintenance experience Location Courses are conducted in approved EASA Part 147 training facilities at New Delhi. Practical training is conducted at Part 145 facilities of Air India Engineering Services Ltd and Indamer Aviation.
