You are not eligible to participate in Indian Engineering Services (IES) Exam. For it you have to be a graduate in Engineering.

Tentative Important Dates:

Date of Notification: March, 2016
Last Date to Apply: April, 2016
Date of Exam: June, 2016 (3 days exam)


Civil Engineering

Mechanical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering

Age Eligibility:

Candidates need to be between 21 years to 30 years as on 1st January of the exam year.
Academic Qualification Eligibility:
Candidates must be a graduate in Engineering from a recognized university. Final year students can also appear in IES exam. Students with M.Sc degree or its equivalent with Wireless Communications, Electronics, Radio Physics or Radio Engineering can apply.

Written Exam:

Paper I (Objective type)

General Ability Test
(Part A: General English)
(Part B: General Studies)

200 Marks

Papers II & III (Objective type)

Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-Communication Engineering

200 Marks for each paper

Papers IV & V (Conventional Type)

Civil Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Electrical Engineering/Electronics & Tele-communication Engineering

200 Marks for each paper

Total marks for written exam- 1000 Marks

Personality Test – 200 Marks
