Its primary responsibility is to secure Indian airspace and to conduct aerial warfare during a conflict Graduate: For flying branch CDSE: The combined defense services exam is conducted by UPSC and you will be joining as permanent commission officer by this. There is no percentage bar and ANY GRADUATE can apply. SSC (Short Service Commission): The AFCAT exam (Air Force common admission test) is conducted twice in a year. You should have physics and mathematics together in your class 12 and 60% marks in your graduation to be eligible for this. By SSC, it means that you will be serving for maximum of 14 years. Age limit is 19 to 23 years. Technical Branch UES: University entry scheme: You should be studying in Pre-final year of your engineering degree. It is a permanent commission and entry is through AFCAT exam. The age limit is 18 to 28 years. At time of SSB, there should be no active re-appear/backlog. The subjects are given in the notification of the exam which the candidate should have studied to be eligible for this. Aeronautical Engineering: This is for engineering graduates in aeronautical engg (final year students of Aeronautical engineering can also apply). The entry is through AFCAT and minimum of 60% marks in degree is compulsory. Men can get either permanent commission or Short service commission by this. |
