The Indian Air Force is conducted AFCAT exam for its three main branches. The Air Force Common Admission Test is an Indian Airforce exam that is taken after graduation for selection into Indian Air Force in Flying Branch and Ground Branch (Technical and Non-Technical).

AFCAT Notification is released by the Indian Air Force. AFCAT Admit Card is released online on 2 August 2018.

The entry in the AFCAT for Flying Branch is also invited through Meteorology entry and NCC special entry.

AFCAT online Applications for Female/Male Indian Citizens as per the Citizenship Act 1955 for the air force jobs/ branches started from 16 June to 15 July 2018.

The applications are invited to the following branches.

Flying Branch: The person is trained as a Fighter pilot or a Helicopter pilot or a Transport pilot.
Ground Branch: The person is for Managing human and material resources.
Technical Branch: In charge of some of the most sophisticated equipment in the Indian Air Force.

AFCAT 01/ 2018 Application process starts 25-Dec-17
AFCAT 01/ 2018 application process ends 23-Jan-18
AFCAT Admit Card 05-Feb-18
AFCAT Exam Date 25-Feb-18
Announcement of Result 13-Apr-18
Commencement of Training January 1st week 2019

Pay Scale:

Flying Branch :- Rs 85,372/-
Ground Duty (Tech) Branch :- Rs 74,872/-
Ground Duty (Non-tech) Branch :- Rs 71,872/-

Age Limit:


Flying Branch 20 to 24 years as on 1st July 2018
Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches) 20 to 26 years

Examination Fee: Rs.250/-

Exam Pattern:


The Exam Will be Online Written Objective Type.
All questions will be of three marks each.
For every correct answer the candidate will get 03 marks and for every wrong answer 01 mark will deduct under negative marking.
The AFCAT Exam will be of 100 Questions with 300 Marks with the two hours time duration. It will contain multiple choice questions.
The question will be on General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test.
The standard of Numerical Ability Questions will be of Matriculation level. The standard of questions in other subjects will be of graduation level (Indian University)
