The National Institute of Water Sports NIWS was set up in the year 1990 by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Every one of the courses offered by the establishment are led in conformance to the International Sporting Agencies standard. There are evaluations/levels for surveying and assessing a competitor's execution. The competitors who neglect to get the required least grade in the assessment procedure can approach the foundation for a re-test. The legitimacy of the permit or endorsement issued to the fruitful competitors is upto 4 years for all courses aside from Beach Lifeguard which is upto 3 years.
