The IITM Institute Hospital was started in 1969 with a single medical officer and a helper. Since then it has grown into a well equipped primary health care centre. It tends to provide facilities and amenities that promote the quality care, afford solace and enhance the entitled community.

Its mission is to provide high quality health care services to the students, faculty and staff of IIT Madras with unrelenting attention to clinical excellence, patient satisfaction and patient safety.
