The Department of Biotechnology at IIT Hyderabad is one of the best departments for biotechnology. This department is present for to contribute multi-directionally in addressing the various medical and environmental challenges facing the mankind.

Biotechnology department was established in 2010. This department has outstanding teaching & research programs.

The department offers M.Tech. in Medical Biotechnology and Ph.D. in Biotechnology and has active research groups in the frontier areas encompassing Carcinogenesis, Infectious Diseases, Prion & Amyloid Diseases and Structural Biology.
