Hi buddy I want to get detail info of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur Summer Undergraduate Research and Graduate Excellence (SURGE) program, so would you plz tell me about it ??

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur organizes, a 8 week long programme called, Summer Undergraduate Research and Graduate Excellence (SURGE) – IIT Kanpur Summer Internship every year.

IIT Kanpur Summer Internship is divided into 3 parts, depending upon the students background.

1.) SURGE for Non IIT Kanpur students (from all colleges across India)
2.) SURGE for SAARC (Students from Nepal and Bhutan)
3.) SURGE for IIT-K at IIT Kanpur (only for IIT Kanpur students)

SURGE for IIT-K at IIT Kanpur:
Under this part, only IIT Kanpur students are eligible to apply. In order to be eligible, it is necessary for the student to identify a professor who agrees to be his/her mentor, and a suitable project to pursue for the 08 weeks in summer.

In addition, two letters of recommendation and one mentor certification form have to be submitted as hard copy to the SURGE office.

Eligibility criteria :
– B.Tech/BS (2nd, 3rd year),
– Dual Degree (2nd, 3rd, 4th year),
– M.Sc. 2-Year (1st year).

Stipend/ Support:
– Stipend will be provided by SURGE Program or IIT Kanpur.
– A commendation certificate is given to those who produce good results during internship.

Duration: 2 months/ 8 weeks (May – July 2017)

SURGE for Non IIT Kanpur students:

Under this program, Non-IIT Kanpur students are eligible to apply for SURGE – IIT Kanpur Summer Internship.

eligibility criteria:
– B.Tech/BE/B-Arch/BS (3rd year completed),
– Five year degree program (3rd year completed, 4th year),
– B.S/ B.A. (2nd year completed)

Stipend/ Support:
– Stipend will be provided by SURGE Program or IIT Kanpur.
– A commendation certificate is given to those who produce good results during internship.
