I have completed my B.Tech and planned to join the M.Tech from the IIT Mumbai and want to know about the different departments available at the IIT Mumbai. Can you please tell me the lists of all the departments available for doing the M.Tech from the IIT Mumbai?

The IIT (Indian Institute of Technology) Bombay M. Tech admission will be offered by around 16 departments. GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering ) qualified candidates could apply for the IIT Bombay M. Tech admission. Candidates with high GATE scores could apply for direct admissions while others could appear for a written test and interview to avail the IIT Bombay M. Tech admissions.

IIT Bombay M. Tech Eligibility Criteria

Candidates need to meet certain academic and other parameters to be able to apply for admission in the M. Tech programmes which are being offered at IIT Bombay.

Academic Qualifications

One belonging to the general category will have to score minimum 60% marks in their B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Sc. (Engineering)/ M.Sc./ M.C.A./ MBBS/ M.Pharm./ B.Pharm.(4 yr. Degree)/ BDS (4 yr. Degree), while those belonging to Schedule Caste, Schedule Tribe will have to score minimum 55% marks.

One who has passed the Associate Membership Examination which is conducted by recognized professional bodies are also eligible to apply. The list of such bodies is:
1. Institute of Chemical Engineers
2. Institution of Engineers
3. Aeronautical Society of India
4. Institute of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers
5. Indian Institutes of Metals

Eligibility Criteria for IIT B. Tech Degree holders

One who has completed the B. Tech from any IIT with a CGPA or CGPI of 8:00 (on a scale of 0-10) is exempted from the GATE qualifying criterion. Such candidates will have to appear for a written test and interview.
