I have completed B.Tech and now want to take admission in M.Tech Course at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur so please give me details for admission including eligibility criteria? Give me last years GATE cutoff of IIT Kharagpur for an idea?

Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur is a public technical and research university established by the government of India in 1951.

It is the first of the IITs to be established and is recognised as an Institute of National Importance.

IIT Kharagpur M Tech Eligibility

Eligibility criteria:

(1) For institutes awarding degree based on aggregate marks secured in all years of the qualifying degree:
(a) GE/OBC/EWS: Min. of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale)
(b) SC/ST/PwD: Min. of 55% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale)

(2) For institutes awarding degree based on aggregate marks secured in the final two semesters or final year of the qualifying degree:
(a) GE/OBC/EWS: Min. of 60% marks (or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10 point scale)
(b) SC/ST/PwD: Min. of 55% marks (or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10 point scale).

Selection

The admission will be based on either GATE Score only or GATE Score (70 % weightage) and a personal interview (30 % weightage).

Personal interview will be held to test the following:

(a) Motivation and aptitude for the Programme
(b) Suitability for the department/centre
(c) Skills in basic science, engineering, and relevant areas.

Personal interview will be conducted at IIT Kharagpur only
