As you want to get the details of IIT Joint Admission Test eligibility criteria so here it is for you: Eligibility Criteria: For IISc, Bangalore: Candidates must have passed with First class marks (as declared by the university) for General/OBC category candidates and at least second class or 50% aggregate marks for SC and ST category candidates in the qualifying degree. For IITs: Candidates must have passed with minimum of 55% aggregate marks for General/OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks for SC, ST and PD category IIT JAM Exam Pattern: IIT JAM 2014 Important dates Date of Admission Test - February 9, 2014 Announcement of Results - April 16, 2014 Last date for receiving complete application forms with demand draft – April 30, 2014 Release of first admission list under JAM 2013 – Last week of May, 2014 (Tentative) Release of admission letters by admitting institute – First week of June, 2014 (Tentative) Last date for conveying the acceptance of the offer by the candidates to the Organising Chairman, JAM 2014, IIT Delhi – Third week of June, 2014 (Tentative) Release of second admission list under JAM 2014 – Last week of June, 2014 (Tentative) |

IIT Joint Admission Test known as JAM is directed by Indian Institutes of Technology to provide admissions to: Joint M.Sc.- Ph.D. M.Sc. (Two Year) M.Sc.- Ph.D. Dual Degree other Post-Bachelor’s Degree courses at the IITs and to the Integrated Ph.D. programmes at IISc. The participating IIT's are IIT Bhubaneswar IIT Hyderabad IIT Indore IIT Kanpur IIT Kharagpur IIT Madras IIT Roorkee IIT Ropar IIT Bombay IIT Delhi IIT Gandhinagar IIT Guwahati Eligibility Criteria: Education Qualification for IISc Bangalore: Applicants must have First class for un‐reserved/OBC category Applicants and second class or 50% aggregate marks, without rounding off, for SC/ST and PwD category Applicants in the qualifying degree. For IIT Guwahati: Applicants must have at least (a) 55% marks in major/honors and pass in all other subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries OR (b) 60% aggregate marks in all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined, for un‐reserved/OBC(NCL) category candidates; AND at least (a) 50% marks in major/honors and pass in all other subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, OR (b) 55% aggregate marks in all subjects, including Languages and Subsidiaries, all years combined, for SC/STand PwD category Applicants, in the qualifying degree. Educational Qualification for all other IITs: Applicants must have 55% aggregate marks, for un‐reserved/OBC Category candidates and at least 50% aggregate marks Exam Pattern The exam will seven test papers, namely, Chemistry (CY) Geology (GG) Biological Sciences (BL) Biotechnology (BT) Mathematics (MA) Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH), each of three hours duration. All the seven test papers of JAM will be of fully objective type, with three different patterns of questions as follows: Multiple Choice Questions : Each MCQ type question has four choices out of which only one choice is the correct answer. MSQ: there may be one or more than one choice(s) that are correct out of the four given choices. Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions: No choices will be shown for these types of questions. For each Numerical Answer Type question, the answer is a signed real number which needs to be entered using the virtual keypad on the monitor. |
