Re: IIT Jodhpur Scholarship

The details about the Scholarships offered by IITJ-Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur for its students for B. Tech. Programs are as follows:

Students enrolled in B. Tech. Programs are provided Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship each Academic Year, whose details are:

1. For General & OBC category students:
(1) Rs.1000/- per month, and
(2) Free Tuition Fee (Freeship).
2. For SC & ST category students:
(1) Free Dining (Dues of only basic menu),
(2) Exemption from Hostel Seat Rent, and
(3) Pocket allowance of Rs. 500 per month.


Eligibility for applying for MCM Scholarship

(1) Merit
(A) For General & OBC Category Students
For the students in first year: Minimum 60% of aggregate marks in the 12th Class.
For the students in second year onwards: Minimum CPI is 6.5 and No F (Fail) grades in any of the courses (including Compulsory Physical Activity).

(B) For SC & ST Category Students
For the students in first year: Minimum 55% of aggregate marks in the 12th Class.
For the Students in second year onwards: No F (Fail) grades in any of the courses (including Compulsory Physical Activity - CPA).

(2) Means
For all category students: Annual Income (without any standard deduction) of a student’s parents/guardian and his Family from all sources in the preceding financial year (From: 01-04-2013 to: 31-03-2014) must not exceed Rs. 6.0 Lakhs.


Proof of Parental Income to be submitted along with Application

(A) If parent(s) being Salaried Persons in Government or Private Organizations:
(1) A photocopy of Annual Income Certificate (Form F16) of immediately preceding Financial Year, as provided by the employer, and
(2) A copy of Income Tax Returns (ITR) for present Assessment Year as filed with the Department of Income Tax.

(B) In case of parent(s) being Non-Salaried Persons (Businessman, Farmer, Self-Employed, etc):
(1) Original Affidavit stating the Family Annual Income in the prescribed format
(Please see: Information Brochure for Freshers)
(2) A certificate issued by CO or Tehsildar or DMO (in original)
OR
A photocopy of Income Tax Returns (ITR) for the present Assessment Year as filed with the Department of Income Tax.


(C) Conditions for availing MCM Scholarship
(1) Total number of MCM scholarships awarded by the Institute will not exceed 25% of total strength of Undergraduate Students.
(2) One who has received MCM scholarships in the previous Academic Year need to apply afresh for the award of the MCM scholarship for the current Academic Year.
(3) One who is already availing a scholarship/financial assistance/stipend from any other source is not eligible for the MCM scholarship..
