Re: IIT JEE 2013 Pattern News

From this year Indian government decided that there will be single admission test for all the IITs, NITs, IIITs and other central government funded institutions.

The new admission test will be held in two phases – JEE Main and JEE Advanced. In addition, there will be a weight-age to the class XII performance.

Admission to the IITs will be based on the performance in JEE Advanced in which all the candidates can appear.

Of all the candidates IIT short listed the 1, 50,000 students on the basis of the JEE Main examination merit list, and only these students would appear for the JEE Advanced.

A merit list for the final admission to IITs will be prepared on marks obtained in this test. Students, should be in top 20 % candidate to be appear in their board.

The mains and advanced papers would be conducted on different dates, and would have a gap of 3-4 weeks.

Students seeking admission to the NITs will not have to sit for the JEE Advanced test. FInal admission list will be prepared with 40% weight-age to Class XII board exam scores [normalized] and 60% weight-age to score in Advanced test..

JEE Main will be conducted by CBSE, while JEE Advanced by the IITs
