Admission into M. Tech programmes at Department of EEE, IIT Guwahati is held once in a year (July Session). One is first required to attend the counselling session held at IIT Guwahati. Based on reported candidates, the final shortlist is prepared for offering the seats through the COAP.

Eligibility Requirement

Bachelors degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or Equivalent or MSc (Electronics) or Graduates (AMIETE) from Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, and a valid GATE score in EC/EE
For `Power and Control specialization, a valid GATE score in `EE or `IN is a must

Criteria for shortlisting candidates for counselling

Bachelors degree in Electrical/ Electronic Engineering or Equivalent or MSc (Electronics) or Graduates (AMIETE) from Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) and a valid GATE score in EC/EE. For Power and Control specialization a valid GATE score in EE or IN is a must

(b) OBC-NCL: GATEEC/EE score ≥ 540
(c) SC : GATEEC/EE score ≥ 400
(d) ST : GATE EC/EE score ≥ 400
(e) PWD : GATEEC/EE score ≥ 400
