Re: IIT Delhi Exam Papers
I am providing you the sample question paper of Energy Conversion of Indian Institute of Technology Delhi IIT Delhi Energy Conversion question paper Duration: 1 h Max. Marks: 30 Measurements on a Zen Estilo 3-cylinder, four stroke gasoline engine of displacement volume 998cc yield the following data, running at 3500 rpm. The fuel flow rate is 6 ml/s, density of the fuel is 740 kg/m 3 and its LHV is 44000 kJ/kg. Tested on an electric dynamometer whose efficiency is known to be 0.85 at 3500 rpm, it produces 225V, 124 A when all three cylinders are firing, and 225V: 74.89 A, 75.93 A and 76.39 A when cylinders 1, 2 and 3 are respectively cut off to perform Morse Test. Compute: a) Brake power and BMEP at 3500 rpm, which is known to be the speed at which the engine delivers the highest torque. Compute the maximum torque of the engine. b) Indicated power and frictional power of the engine at this condition and hence mechanical efficiency. Compute the area under the p-V diagram in Joules per cycle. c) Brake thermal efficiency and brake specific fuel consumption in kg/kWh Contact- Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India Outer Ring Road, Hauz Khas, Hauz Khas, New Delhi, Delhi 110016 011 2659 7135 |
