IIT Bombay M Sc Admission

Can you tell me in detail about the M Sc admission in IIT Bombay as my friend wants to take admission in it?

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay or IIT Bombay was founded in 1958. It offers doctoral degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

General Admission Requirement

Admission to 2-Year M.Sc./6-Year M.Sc.-Ph.D (Dual Degree) is through Joint Admission test for M.Sc.(JAM).

JAM qualified students shall have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria for admissions in IITs.

Minimum 55% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects , including languages and subsidiaries, all year combined) for General category students and at least 50% aggregate marks (taking into account all subjects , including languages and subsidiaries, all year combined) for SC/ST and PD category students in the qualifying degree.

For students with letter grades/CGPA (instead of percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s).

At the time of Admission, all admitted students will have to submit a physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form.

At the time of registration, the admitted students may also have to undergo a physical fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Admitting Institute. In case a student is not found to be physically fit to pursue one’s chosen course of study, one’s admission is liable to be cancelled.
