IIMK or Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode has taken a major initiative for strengthening India's intellectual infrastructure for management education and training, through the Faculty Development Programmes (FDP).

It offers one of the highest numbers of FDPs among business schools in India, reflecting its commitment to nation building through management education and infrastructure development.

It focuses on:

Enhancing functional area expertise
Improving one's classroom delivery both as a teacher and trainer
Enhancing abilities for conducting meaningful research

IIMK is also conducting programmes in partnership with organizations like Strategic Management Forum and European Case Clearing House.

The All India Council for Technical Education has recognized IIMK as a Quality Improvement Centre in November 2004.
