Re: IIM Bangalore Analytics Course
The Post Graduate Programme - MBA (Master in Business Administration) in Business Analytics – offered by IIMB (Indian Institute of Management Bangalore) is a 24-month fulltime program. It is structured to enable to define business and social challenges, use analytical tools and techniques to identify patterns, gain insights, develop business strategies and make sound management decisions. Eligibility Domestic Admissions are based on the applications received through the Common Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). Domestic candidates are Indian nationals or foreigners normally resident in India who are in a position to take the CAT. Shortlisted candidates attend a written test and personal interview and provide two letters of reference from persons who know them closely in terms of their academic/professional performance. The final selection is based on the CAT performance, scholastic achievement, performance in the Writing Ability Test, and interview. International To be eligible to apply with a GMAT score, one must have resided abroad for at least 18 months in the preceding 3 years (January 2017 to December 2019) and should – for that reason – not be/ have been in a position to appear for CAT 2019. The selection is conducted in two stages. In the first stage, an evaluation committee goes through each application in detail and examines academic background, international experience and GMAT score. The committee then decides whether the applicant is eligible for the next stage – the Personal Interview (PI). One who qualifies would need to attend the PI, either in person or through remote video conferencing. The PI comprises a Writing Ability Test (WAT) followed by an interview. The performance in Writing Ability Test is examined by an independent evaluator for content and presentation. One appearing for the PI through remote video conferencing shall take the WAT on e-mail. Interviewers use the PI to evaluate one’s motivation and ability to benefit from the programme. One must provide two (confidential) reference letters from the employers or faculty who taught during graduation. These reference letters will also be used as part of the evaluation. Once the two-stage process is done, the evaluation committee will make an offer of admission. There is no quota or fixed number of seats and no waitlist either for the same reason. |
