Is IIM Ahmedabad UGC Approved

I want to do MBA from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad so I want to know that it is approved by UGC or not? Is it possible to get direct admission in MBA course in IIM Ahmedabad or is there any entrance test for admission in it?

Can you tell me if Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad is approved by UGC (Union Grant Commission) as I want to check it before taking admission in it?

All the Indian Institutes of Managements (IIMs) are registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act as separate societies. Each IIM is an autonomous body and has independent control over its administration; however, the overall strategy and operations are supervised by the IIM Council headed by the Minister of Human Resource of India.

Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is a public business school established in 1961. It was the second Indian Institute of Management (IIM) to be established, after IIM Calcutta.
