The Eligibility for Admissions to Diploma Programs for Food Production and Food & Beverage Service offered by Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology and Applied Nutrition (IHM-Dehradun) are as follows:

• The minimum qualification for admission is 10+2 system of Senior Secondary Education or its equivalent with English as one of the compulsory subject.

• Age limit is not more than 22 years for General / PH and 25 years for SC / BC candidates as on 1st of July are eligible.

• Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board / Pre-University Certificate is the only authentic proof that will be accepted. At interview time, the certificate must be produced in original as a proof of age, failing which one will not be considered for admission.

• Admission is subject to verification of facts from the original certificates / documents to be produced by the candidates. Decision of Principal, Institute of Hotel Management, Dehradun regarding the eligibility is final. Even after admission to the Institute if one is at a later date found ineligible on account of supplying false information of false testimonials or for having suppressed any material information, one’s admission is cancelled and the fee paid will also be forfeited.

Selection Procedure is made strictly according to merits drawn on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the qualifying examinations.

For admission- seats are reserved for various categories as per the rules of Uttarakhand Government. In case of non availability of admissions for reserved candidates, the seat will remain vacant.

One who has passed examination other than those enumerated above should submit equivalent certificate from a recognized Board/University.

Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Admission will be made on the basis of class 12th merit.

Admission is given to one having valid Domicile Certificate of Uttarakhand issued by the competent authority

Physical Fitness:
One needs to submit a physical fitness certificate from a Registered Medical Practitioner as per the prescribed format given in the Information Brochure.

Admission is granted only if one is found to be physically fit for pursuing the course of study.
