Does the IGNOU University have approval with NCTE? I am looking to join B.Ed Course from this University. So please tell me what is minimum educational qualification required for admission for this Education Course. Provide documents that prove the IGNOU is approved by NCTE.

Yeah, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) is approved by the National Council For Teacher Education NCTE.

The B.Ed Programmes of IGNOU is recognized by the NCTE and is offered in NCTE approved Training Colleges in the country.

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offers Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) programme.

It is an innovative programme utilizing self instructional materials and information technology along with interactive personal contact programmes.

B.Ed Eligibility-

Bachelor Degree or a higher degree with fifty (50%) percent marks from a recognized university

However, teachers appointed prior to the commencement of NCTE Regulation, Norms and Procedures, second amendment regulation dated 30.3.2010 the requirement of 50% marks shall not apply.

The reservation for SC/ST/OBC and other categories shall be as per the rules of the Central/State Government whichever is applicable. There shall be relaxation of 5% marks for them.
