The School of Sciences started functioning in 1986, with the challenge of imparting good quality theoretical and practical education in four science disciplines, namely, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Life Sciences.


BSc Mathematics (Major) Program

School of Sciences (SOS) Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) offer the BSc Mathematics (Major) Program. For the program, elective courses worth 40 credits in mathematics (MTE-01, 02, 04 to 14) should be completed. Of these 40 credits in elective courses, the 28 credits worth of courses viz., MTE-01,02,04 to 09 are compulsory.

10+2 in Science or equivalent


Fee Structure

Total Programme fee is Rs. 10,500,which is to be paid @ Rs. 3,500 per Annum.


Programme Structure

The 96 credits for the Programme are to be spread over 3 categories of Courses:
Foundation Courses -24 Credits
Elective Courses - 56 to 64 Credits
Application- Oriented Courses- 8 to 16 Credits
Awareness Course on Environment -Nil
Total - 96 Credits

In case, one does not complete various BSc (Major) degrees and complete any other combination of courses from among science elective courses, then one will be awarded a BSc (General) degree.
