IFS Preliminary Exam Syllabus
I have completed my PG degree and want to prepare for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) Exam looking for the IFS Preliminary Exam Syllabus. Will you please provide me completed syllabus of this exam and also tell me what the pattern of this IFS exam?

Indian Forest Service (IFS) is one of the Civil Services of India, the other two being the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS). The chief purpose of IFS is the implementation of the National Forest Policy which aims to preserve the environment. Syllabus of IFS Entrance examination: Civil Services (Prelims) Examination Indian Forest Services (Mains) Examination IFS written examination consists of following papers: Paper Ist: General English Paper 2nd: General Knowledge Paper IIIrd, IVth, Vth, and VIth: Candidates need to select any two subjects from this list: Agriculture Agricultural Engineering Animal Husbandry Botany Chemistry Chemical Engineering Forestry Geology Mathematics Mechanical Engineering Physics Statistics Zoology IFS Exam Pattern: Paper Subject Marks Paper I General English 300 Paper II General Knowledge 300 Paper III Optional Subject 1 200 Paper IV Optional Subject 1 200 Paper V Optional Subject 2 200 Paper VI Optional Subject 2 200 Age Limitation: Your’s age limit should be in between 21 to 30 Years as on before 1st July of that year. Educational Criteria You need to hold the Bachelor Degree in Science with at least one of the following subject: Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Geology, Statistics, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry; or Bachelor’s Degree in engineering (any stream) / Forestry/ Agriculture; or MBBS. |
