How many numbers of attempts are available for OBC Candidate in IES (Indian Engineering Services) Exam???

IES (Indian Engineering Services) Exam is conducted for the post of engineering in government. Exam is taken mainly for the four branches of engineering-

Civil Engineering
Mechanical Engineering
Electrical Engineering
Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

Number of attempts for IES exam
7 for OBC are allowed for OBC candidates
4 attempts are allowed for General candidates
No limit for SC/ST/others

Eligibility for IES Exam

Nationality:
You must be
a citizen of India or
a subject of Nepal / Bhutan or
a Tibetian refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka or east African countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age:
-Age must be in between 21 – 30yrs till 1st of January of the year of examination
-Relaxation is provided to a few candidates of department.

Qualification:
Must have passed Engineering degree from any recognised university of India or Msc degree from specialised branches
