The Indian Engineering Services exam is taken by UPSC (Union Public Service
Examination) for the following posts of Civil Engineering given below:

Central Water Engineering
Indian Railway Stores Service
Central Engineering Service
Military Engineer Service (Building and Roads Cadre)
Assistant Executive Engineer
Survey of India Service
Indian Railway Service of Engineers

Cut off marks for ST applicants :-230

Exam Pattern:
The exam comprises of Written Test and Interview.
Personal Interview is of 200 marks.
Written examination is of 1000 marks.

Paper I (Objective type): 200 marks
General Ability Test
General Studies
General English

Papers II & III (Objective type): 200 marks
The questions are asked from relevant branch of engineering.

Papers IV & V(Conventional Type):
Personality Test: 200 marks 30 Minutes
The questions are asked from chosen subject.

Starting Date for IES-ESE Registration: 15th March 2014
Last Date for IES-ESE Registration 2014: 14th April 2014
Date of Exam: 20th June 2014
