Will you tell me how I can join Intelligence Bureau (IB) department after completing engineering ?

For joining Intelligence Bureau (IB ) you have to appear in SSC - Combined Graduate Preliminary Exam (CGPE) that is conducted by the Staff selection Commission.

Eligibility for the exam:

Qualification : Bachelor degree in any stream

Age : between 20 to 27 years

Relaxation :
for OBC is +3 years, and
for SC/ST +5 years

Nationality : Indian

Selection Process:-
Preliminary Examination (objective type)(tire 1 )
Main Examination (Conventional type) (Tire 2)
Personal Interview

Paper pattern :
Tier–I of the Combined Graduate level Examination would be common for all categories of posts and will be held in one session .

Scheme of Tier-I Examination for all candidates including Visually Handicapped candidates with visual disability of forty percent and above and opting for availing the assistance of scribe.






Questions will be of Objective Multiple Type Choice. The questions will be set both in Hindi and English in respect of Parts A, B and C.

Tier-II of the Combined Graduate Level Examination will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice and will be conducted over a period of two days during a weekend. It will consist of three different papers/subjects and depending upon the category of posts applied for, the candidates will be required to appear either in one, or in two or in all the three papers, as the case may be.

For the Post of Assistants, Inspector of Income-Tax/Inspector (Central Excise, Inspector (PO), Inspector(Examiner) Sub Inspector In CBI, Inspector of Posts, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Divisional Accountants, Accountants, Auditors, Sub Inspector In CPOS, Statistical Investigators Gr.II , Tax Assistants, Compilers, UDC's, The scheme of Tier-II Written Examination Will Be as under:






Tier-III of the SCC comprises Personallity Test and Interview for the Post of Assistant, Inspector of Income Tax/Inspector (Central Excise/Preventive Officer/Examiner) Sub Inspector in CBI, Inspector of Posts, Assistant Enforcement Officer, Statistical Investigators GR-II , Compiler and Sub-Inspector in Central Police Organisation
