Hello user, I would like to tell you that IAS examination is one of the most prestigious and reputed examination conducted by UPSC for the post of various civil servants.

I would like to mention that in this examination the preliminary examination is a kind of qualifying examination for the main examination so you have to pay a lot of attention and focus for this examination.

The syllabus for pleminiary examination is like following :

Preliminary Examination CSAT:

The Examination shall comprise two compulsory papers of 200 marks each.
Paper I -(200 marks) Duration:Two hours

•Current events of national and international importance.
•History of India and Indian National Movement.
•Indian and World Geography -Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.

•Indian Polity and Governance -Constitution, Political System, PanchayatiRaj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.
•Economic and Social Development
-Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector initiatives, etc.
•General issues on Environmental Ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change-that do not require subject specialization.
