Civil Service is the most coveted employment in India. Determination for the employments under Civil Services is done through the three pronged exam design Prelims – Mains –Interview that is directed by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

Qualification Criteria for Civil Services (IAS and IPS) Exam

i) Academic Eligibility

The applicant must hold a PASS BACHELOR'S degree from any of the Universities fused by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India or other instructive organizations set up by an Act of Parliament or announced to be considered as a University, under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or have a comparable capability.

Competitors who have showed up or mean to show up for the last examination and are anticipating results are likewise qualified to apply for the Preliminary Examination.

Every such hopeful who qualify the Prelims examination must create a proof of Pass Bachelor Degree to show up for the Civil Services Main Examination. This Degree must be joined with their application for the Main Examinations.

ii) Age limits

iv) Other Eligibility Criteria:

Nationality:

The applicant must be a native of India to be qualified for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Indian Police Service (IPS), for different administrations, a hopeful must be either:

A citizen of India,
Or a subject of Nepal,
Or a subject of Bhutan,
Then again a Tibetan outcast who approached India before first January, 1962 with the expectation of forever settling in India,

then again a man of Indian inception who has relocated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African nations of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the expectation of forever settling in India.
Given that an applicant having a place with classifications (c), (d), (e) and (f) might be a man in whose support a declaration of qualification has been issued by the Government of India.

Given further that applicants having a place with classifications (c), (d) (e) and (f) above won't be qualified for arrangement to the Indian Foreign Service
