The HPCL written exam will consists of Objective type questions in two parts:

Section-I:
General Aptitude test –
It will consist of questions from:

i) Intellectual Potential
ii) Logical Reasoning
iii) Data Interpretation
iv) Quantitative Aptitude
v)Test of English Language

There are 85 question in this paper for all disciplines except Information System Officer, for which there will be 60 questions.

Section-II: Technical Knowledge test.

It will consist of questions specific to the qualifying disciplines/position applied for. There are 85 question in this paper for all disciplines except Information System Officer, for which there will be 90 questions.

Thus there are 170 questions in total in HPCL Officer Trainee Exam for all disciplines except Information System Officer, for which there will be 150 questions.

Duration of HPCL Officer Trainee Exam is 2 hours (120 minutes).

There is no negative marking.

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) syllabus for Officer Trainee consists of General aptitude and Professional Technical Aptitude. HPCL Officers recruitment Written Test has 2 parts:

Questions -Objective type
Time Limit -2 hours

Section 1: 120 Questions

General aptitude consisting of Intellectual Potential test-Logical Reasoning Data Interpretation and Quantitative Aptitude and

Verbal Ability Antonyms, Articles, Sentence Correction and Reading Comprehension-40 Questions

Ratios, percentages, train problems, permutations, ages and series-40 Questions

Figure series Intellectual ability comprise -40 Questions

Quantitative and reasoning Practice Tests Courses Tips and Tricks

Section 2 : 50 Questions-Professional Knowledge

Questions will based on petroleum compositions and process, mixtures, chemical technology, mass transfer, fluid mechanics, CRE, Heat transfer, Process Instrumentation, PDC etc.

Candidates fulfilling all the criteria's of theirs are called for appearing for written Test. Written Test is objective type of comprising of two parts

1.General aptitude consisting of Intellectual Potential test-Logical Reasoning Data Interpretation

2.Quantitiative Aptitude and Verbal ability

3.Professional knowledge comprising of question related to Qualifying degree/Educational background required for the position applied

4.Candidates qualifying in the written test will be called for the Personal Interview, in order of the category wise

5.Candidates must secure minimum qualifying marks separately in both Written Tests and Personal Interview and also minimum qualifying marks written test
