Re: How to Reach Bharati Vidyapeeth Pune

At present the main Bharati Vidyapeeth University office in Pune is located in the ten storey building of Bharati Vidyapeeth Bhavan, which is situated on the banks of the river Mutha in the Deccan Gymkhana area.

Bharati Vidyapeeth has its campuses in New Delhi, the capital of India and at Pune, Navi Mumbai, Karad, Sangli, Kolhapur, Solapur, Jawahar and at a few other places in Maharastra.

Pune is well connected by rail, road and air to the major cities in India.

By Air:

Pune's airport at Lohegaon is 12 km from the main city centre.
Daily flights connect it to Mumbai & Delhi and other cities such as Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.
Private cabs, auto rickshaws or city airport shuttle buses will cover the distance from the airport to the city centre.

By Train:

Pune is one of the most important rail junctions in the Central railways zone of Indian Railways. Plenty of trains connect it to major destinations in the south, north and west of the country by mail, express and super fast trains.
The Deccan Queen and Shatabdi Express are fast commuter trains from/to Mumbai, with traveling time of three-and-a-half hours approximately.

By Road:

Maharastra state roadways buses and buses operated by private companies connect the different places in the state to Pune and destinations in the neighboring states of Karnataka, Goa and Andhra Pradesh.

3 bus terminals provide services to the all-important places in the region.

The Railway Terminal to destinations in the south Goa, Panchgani, Mahabaleshwar, Belgaum, Kolhapur; Shivaji Nagar Terminal for north and northeast points Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Lonavala, Nashik and the Swargate Terminal for buses bound to Mumbai, Mangalore, Bangalore and Sinhagad.

Most people traveling to Pune from Mumbai, Nasik or Aurangabad prefer to do so by road as the distance between Mumbai-Pune is 170 km, Nashik-Pune 209 km and Aurangabad-Pune is 230 km.

The roads are well maintained with conveniently located motels and service stations on route.

Getting Around:

Metered taxis and auto rickshaws practice the city streets; the latter are the most popular mode of transport in Pune as they are economical and fast.

Pune Municipal Transport (PMT) buses reach every part of the city and the suburbs from the terminals at Swargate, Deccan Gymkhana, Pune Station, Shivaji Nagar station, M G Bus Stand, Pune Corporation and Saras Baug.
