Re: How many times AFCAT exams held in a year?

Air Force Common Admission Test is an exam to induct officers in the Indian Air Force. It is conducted twice every year in February and August. Mostly the exam is conducted on the last Sunday of the respective months.

This is the list of Branches in which selection is made through AFCAT:

Flying Branch
(Fighters, Transports and Helicopters)

Technical Branch
(Aeronautical Engineering course (Mechanical and Electronics)

Ground Duty Branches
(Administration, Accounts, Logistics and Education)

Important dates:
Date of Notification: 8th June 2014
Start of receipt of applications: 8th June 2014
Last date for the receipt of applications: 7th July 2014
Expected date of result: 3rd week of September 2014
Date of Exam: 24th August 2014

AFCAT Examination Syllabus:
General Awareness syllabus includes subjects like Current Affairs, Defence, History, Geography, Civics, Sports, Basic Science, Environment, Politics, Art, and Culture.

Verbal ability in English will examine knowledge of English with respect to Comprehension, Synonyms, Antonyms, Error Detection, Vocabulary Evaluation, and Sentence Completion.

Numerical Ability paper will cover Decimal, Fraction, Simplification, Average, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest, Ratio, and Proportion.

Reasoning and Military Aptitude tests verbal skills along with spatial ability.
