Re: How is CAT Exam Held

Common Admission Test or CAT is an all India level examination organized by the Indian Institute of Management based on the policy of rotation. It comprised in the verbal ability, quantitative ability, logical reasoning and data interpretation.

The CAT 2016 Exam will be held in the month of August. Expected reservation of Seats for CAT 2016:

Reservation of seats for SC Candidates: 15%
Reservation of seats for ST candidates: 7.5%
Reservation of seats for OBC: 27%
Reservation of seats for the person with disabilities: 3%

CAT Pattern:-

Duration of the examination has been increased to 180 minutes instead of 170 minutes.

There will be three sections,’ Quantitative Aptitude (QA)’, ‘Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)’ and Verbal and Reading Comprehension (VRC)’.

QA and VRC will have 34 questions each, and DILR will have 32 questions. Some questions in each section may not be of multiple choice types.

Instead, direct answers are to be typed on the screen.

The scoring scheme for multiple-choice questions is as follows:
Each correct answer is awarded 3 marks.
An incorrect answer fetches -1.
No marks are given or deducted for un-attempted questions.

Starting date of CAT 2016 Registration: August 2016
