CGPA is obtained by dividing the sum of product of Grade Point (GPi) earned and Credits (Ci) of a registered course for n number of courses by total no of credits registered.

While calculating CGPA, VIT University considers two parameters i.e. corresponding credits assigned to and grades obtained in particular subjects. Now, grades are equivalent to numeric values as follows:
S-10
A-9
B-8
C-7
D-6
E-5
F-0

Conversion of CGPA to Percentage
Calculation of CGPA depends on grades which in turn depend on what is the class average and toppers score.
