The University of Mysore is a public state university in Mysore, Karnataka, India.

The university was founded during the reign of Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV, the Maharaja of Mysore. It opened on July 27, 1916.

The Directorate of Student Welfare is the supporting service of University of Mysore and takes care of the welfare of the students.

Under the control of DSW, there are 15 hostels, ( 8 PG hostels and 6 UG hostels and 01 working women’s hostel) spread around Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Hassan districts.
