Will you please give here history detail about the Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Ltd. (ECGC)?

Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Ltd. ( ECGC ) is an Government Enterprise which provides export credit insurance facilities to exporters and banks in India.

ECGC was first established as Export Risk Insurance Corporation (ERIC) on 30th July 1957 in Mumbai as a Private Ltd. Company.

In the year 1983 ERIC renamed as Export Credit Guarantee Corporation of India Ltd. ( ECGC ).

ECGC works to :

Provid a range of credit risk insurance covers to exporters against loss in export of goods and services.

Provides Overseas Investment Insurance to Indian companies .
