Himachal Pradesh government conducts examination for recruitments for the Administrative Services every year.

Eligibility criteria and age limit for HAS Examination is as follows:
Firstly the examination is referred as HPAS.
HPAS refers to Himachal Pradesh administrative services.
This examination is conducted only once a year by The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC).
One must be the citizen Of India.
One needs to have completed the graduation from only well recognised university.
One's age must be between 21 years to 35 years.
Age relaxations would be provided as per the Himachal Pradesh Government Notification.

Cadres of Services under HPAS Combined Competitive Examination:

1. Himachal Pradesh Administrative Services
2. Himachal Pradesh Police Services
3. Tehsildar
4. Excise & Taxation Officer
5. Block Development Officer
6. District Panchayat Officer
7. Manager, District Industries Centre
8. District Welfare-cum-Probation Officers
9. Assitant, Registrar Co-operative Societies
10. District Employment Officer
11. District Treasury Officer
12. District Food and Civil Supplies Controller and
13. Assistant Controller, Weights and Measures respectively

Exam Pattern:
There will be three stages in the HP administrative Services Combined Competitive Exam namely:
1. Preliminary Exam
2. Main Exam and
3. Viva-Voce respectively

1. Preliminary Examination:
There will be 2 papers of objective type in the Preliminary Examination. The questions will be based on Multiple Choice Answers on the following topics:
Paper I: General Studies for 200 Marks with 100 Questions
Paper II: Aptitude Test for 200 Marks with 100 Questions

Syllabus of Study for Preliminary Examination:

Paper I: General Studies History; Geography; Current Affairs of National and International Importance; Art & Culture; Socio-Economic Development of Himachal Pradesh; Environmental Issues relating to Bio Diversity and Climate Change; Indian Polity and Governance and General Science

Paper II: Aptitude Test LR and Analytical Ability; Decision Making and Problem Solving; General Mental Ability; Interpersonal Skills; Basic Numeracy; Comprehension Based Questions; Data Sufficiency and Data Interpretation of Class 10th level

2. Main Examination: The aspirants who qualify in the Preliminary Exam can appear in the Main Exam which will be about 20 times of the total number of vacancies. The aspirants will not be issued separate call letters for the Main Exam.

3. Viva Voce:
The aspirants called for the Viva Voce test after the Main Exam will be done three times the total number of vacancies.
