Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd.(POWERGRID) is the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) of India. It is India’s largest Electric Power Transmission Utility.

It was consistently rated “Excellent” under Memorandum of Understanding with Ministry of Power since 1993-94.

Network

It owns and operates about 1,22,412 ckt kms of transmission lines at 800/765kV, 400kV, 220kV & 132kV EHVAC & +500kV HVDC levels and 199 sub-stations.

Its transformation capacity of about 2,41,784 MVA as on 31st October 2015.

The huge transmission network, spread over length and breadth of India, is time and again maintained at an availability of over 99%.
