Dr. Kameshwar Prasad is Professor and Head of the Department of Neurology at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India.


He has more than 35 years of clinical, teaching and research experience and has published more than 270 papers (>125 in Stroke) in peer reviewed journals of national and international repute.

Journals

He has authored a book Fundamentals of Evidence-Based Medicine, which has been reviewed as the best recommended book in the field by the Journal of American Medical Association in December 2006.

He has been the Editor-in-Chief of Bickerstaffs Neurological Examination in Clinical Practice, 7th edn.

He has also authored a Book on Stem Cell in Hindi titled Stem Cell Sankshep me sabhi aavashyak jaankari for general public.


Achievement

Dr. Prasad is a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh), Fellow of National Academy of Medical Sciences (India), and Editor of Edinburgh-based Cochrane Stroke Group.

He has also received several awards and honours from national and international organizations including the prestigious civilian honour Padmashree from the President of India.

Dr. Prasad has been a member of the International Advisory Committee, Asia Pacific Forum for Quality improvement in Healthcare; Editorial Group of Practical Neurology a British Medical Journal publication; Editorial Group,

Cochrane ARI Review Group, Australia; Infectious Diseases and ARI Review Group of International Cochrane Collaboration; and International Clinical Epidemiology Network.

Dr. Prasad is member of the Editorial Board of several national and international journals including British Medical Journal, Practical Neurology etc.

Dr. Prasad is also a referee for many national & international journals and organizations including British Medical Journal, Medical Research Council-UK, Wellcome Trust, Cochrane, Lancet Neurology, Stroke and many others.
