The British Film Institute (BFI) was established to encourage the development of the arts of film, television and the moving image throughout the United Kingdom, to promote education about film, television and the moving image, etc.

Moving Image Production
The Moving Image Production course is offered for education professionals interested in the use of digital video technologies in schools or colleges

Course assessment is by practical editing assignments and a piece of reflective writing.

The learning objectives of the course are:
To bring in candidates into key debates in the area of contemporary moving image production.

To face to face students to underlying theoretical issues in the field, including the semiotics of filming and editing, new literacies, multimodality theory, and theories of creativity.

To provide students experience of moving image production techniques: the use of digital video cameras, non-linear editing systems, animated content.

To facilitate students to consider the use of the systems in an educational context, in relation to learning theory, pedagogic theory, and current debates about digital literacies

Duration
It is a one-term course running from October–December 2014. It will starts on Monday 6 October 2014 and the final assessment deadline is at the beginning of March 2015.

Fees
The course fee is £1040 (home and EU students), £2346 (overseas students).
