HCL Technologies is an IT service provider and works in the domain of software development. It was founded in 1976 and headquartered in Noida, India.

The main services provided by the company are: R&D and Technology services, BPO Services, IT Hardware, Enterprise & Applications Consulting, Remote Infrastructure Management, etc


Academic Criteria for Management Trainee:

-Candidate must be a B.tech (C.S / I.T/E.C.E).

-65 percent throughout (Class X, XII and Graduation).

-Education gap of not more than one year.

The total time allotted to the written exam is 120 minutes. Moreover, each section has different time limits. There is a negative marking of 0.25 in the paper


-English Language section

It consists of short reading comprehension passages. They are easy to solve and answers can be easily found in the passages. This section also consists of basic grammar, usage and vocabulary questions such as: fill in the blanks, synonyms, antonyms, paragraph completion, sentence completion etc.

The time allotted to this section is 30 minutes.


-Analytical Ability section

This Section checks the reasoning skills of the candidates. The section consists of data interpretation and logical reasoning questions. Questions are based on topics such as puzzles, blood relations, statements & arguments, coding decoding, data sufficiency, pattern recognition, deductive logic, statement-assumption etc. The time allotted to this section is 35 minutes.

-Quantitative Ability section

It consists of questions based on mathematical topics such as algebra, time & work, time, speed & distance, arithmetic, percentages, profit & loss, geometry, etc. In general, the section difficulty level varies from easy to moderate. Since the section has a high number of questions, a candidate needs to solve questions rather quickly and speed is of the essence here. The time allotted to this section is 35 minutes.


-Technical Ability section

This Section involves questions from programming & algorithm development concepts It covered topics such as structure & constructs of Computer Programs, Data structures & Basic algorithms and Object Oriented Programming concepts. This section requires thorough preparation and a candidate with conceptual clarity and strong knowledge of the fundamentals would excel.
