Re: Group X and Group Y in Indian Air Force

Indian Air Force (IAF) conducts exams in for recruitment of Unmarried Male Candidates for Airmen in Group 'X' (Technical) OR Group 'Y' (Non-Technical).
Group 'X' (Technical)

Eligibility:
10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

(OR)

(2) Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks


Group 'Y' (Non-Technical)

Eligibility:

10+2 in any stream/ subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

(OR)

Two years Vocational Course from institute recognized by CBSE / State Education Boards / Councils duly recognized with 10+2 by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in Vocational Course.
Pay Scale:
Group 'X' (Technical) Trades: Rs. 24,900/- per month (approx.), may rise up to Rs. 43,940/-
Group 'Y' (Non-Technical) Trades: Rs. 20,500/- per month (approx) which, in subsequent years, may rise up to Rs. 38,720/-.
Selection Process: Written Test, Trade Test and Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
