Re: Green Valley Elementary Galena Park

Green Valley Elementary School was established in the year 1958. The school has met the educational demands in the Woodforest area for 50 years.

The Harris County Department of Education formed the CASE in the year to ensure that every child in Harris County has access to an after-school program.

Mission: Strengthen, support and sustain after-school.

CASE accomplish two goals:

• Improve the quality of after-school programs in Houston/Harris County

• Increase the number of after-school programs and the capacity of existing after-school programs

CASE employs three strategies to achieve these goals:

Grant making and Fundraising to cultivate new sources of funds and to participate in community oversight of funds by:

• Identifying funding opportunities
• Creating grant making systems for distribution of funds
• • Cultivating new sources of funds from foundations, corporations, and individual donors
Convening collaborative partners to respond to funding opportunities

Promoting Program Quality Improvement by furthering the field of after-school program research.

Projects include:
• After-School Initiative
• Kids’ Day Series

Cultivating Community Commitment by recognizing their importance in the healthy development of families, children and communities.
